4800 East Ocean Blvd Long Beach, CA 90803The Dog Zone is nearly three acres of shore available for off-leash exercise. It is for community use and is a place for dogs and dog owners to recreate along the beach in their own community.
Dog Zone Long Beach offers the following products and/or services:
» Dog Parks (168)DOG OWNERS ARE entirely responsible for their dog's actions, and accept the risk of allowing their dog to interact with people, other dogs, existing beach conditions, and City vehicles.
LONG BEACH DOG BEACH RULES/LAWS
1. Only one dog per adult.
2. No dog shall be outside the orange traffic cones without its master on a leash. The cones outline the off-leash area.
3. Wear collar and tags at all times.
4. Dogs are not allowed to walk on the bike path (only to cross it).
5. Enter the dog zone between the two yellow flags on metal poles at the parking lot.
6. No aggressive dogs.
7. Dogs owners are responsible for their dogs.Hours of work
Hours are 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., daily.
PLENTY OF PARKING
800+ parking spaces. From Ocean Blvd, enter the parking lot at the Belmont Olympic Pool, 1 Bennett Ave. for the beachfront metered parking lot -- 25 cents every 15 minutes from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m., daily. Also, there is FREE parking after approx. 5 p.m., daily when you enter the beachfront lot at the end of Granada Ave.
Locations
Northbound on the San Diego Freeway (I-405) or westbound on the Garden Grove Freeway (22): Exit 7th Street into Long Beach and turn off on Studebaker Road where you'll make a left at the light. Take Studebaker south until it dead-ends into 2nd Street (formerly Westminster Avenue), where you'll take a right. Stay on Second Street and go over two bridges into the Belmont Shore shopping area. Turn left on Grenada Avenue. At the end is the entrance to the parking lot. Look for the Dog Zone markers to the south of it.

Love this beach! My dog is always so excited to go! I just need to ask him 'beach?" and he jumps off the couch and races to the door ;)
I have never encountered any doggie drama at this location.
